Reorganize the United States along Cultural Boundaries

It seems like the nation is polar opposed on virtually every issue with everyone upset that they’re being ruled by people who don’t share their values. My bold plan would involve redrawing the entirety of the state borders to encompass regions of similar beliefs regarding the role and authority of government in the lives of the people. Let the leftists in Megalopolis enjoy their socialist utopia. Leave the Appalachians free to raise their chickens and make their moonshine tax-free. Why should we persist in state boundaries established via the accident of colonial bequests, waves of expansion, and ancient treaties? Most current states span multiple cultural regions.

I fear that if we don’t come up with a peaceful solution such as this soon, then Civil War is in our near future. Let us reorganize according to our common beliefs and values so that we can finally have true self-rule and peaceful coexistence.
